  • DOL Fiduciary Rule compliance
    Even with the delay in the DOL Fiduciary Rule, some components of the Rule became applicable on June 9, 2017. Please carefully read this Compliance Bulletin regarding sales of annuity contracts as of June 9. It outlines their understanding of your obligations and role. Also as of June 9, 2017, AIG is requiring an attestation from the writing agent that the agent is conducting business in accordance with the Rule when selling annuities. The attestation is included under the existing “Financial Professional’s Statement” or “Agent Certification” signature page of the Owner Acknowledgement and Disclosure Statement (versions 6/17).
