You will be able to view all policies under your individual clients and important information about each policy including status of the policy, premium, premium paid to date, cash value, and loan information.
  • Requirements for Adverse Underwriting Decisions & Notices for VA Licensed Agents

    Effective June 1, 2015, the trial application process for term applications was discontinued.   • Changes for producers servicing Hartford in-force policies
    Producers are no longer required to be appointed with The Hartford to service Hartford inforce policies for Life business; except for certain policy change transactions. Producers must only maintain a resident state life insurance license to access policy information. Learn more.

  • Important information on special tax withholding
    The IRS imposes a Generation Skipping Transfer Tax on certain estates that skip a generation in order to avoid estate tax. Please be sure to review this flyer as all insurance professionals should be aware of this and advise clients accordingly.
  • Changes to check guidelines – effective June 5th
    Effective June 5, 2015, commissions paid by check must reach a minimum of $500 before a check will be issued. Once the minimum is met, checks will be issued on a bi-weekly basis. As always, if the commission amount accumulated is still less than $500 at the one-year mark, a check will be issued. With this in mind, it might be time to consider Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). With EFT, there is no minimum commission requirement, and commissions can be paid as often as weekly per agent request.

  • In-force rate action notifications for June
    In late June, the next round of policyholder notifications will begin on John Hancock and Fortis policies impacted by the 2010 and 2013 Inforce rate actions, which will have an effective date beginning with anniversaries on or after September 1, 2015. Click here for complete details, including information about specific rate increase implementation handling in Missouri.
  • The 2013 rate action notifications will include John Hancock LTCI individual policies originally issued in Alabama, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Texas and Utah. Also, implementation will continue in Connecticut and begin notifications for additional products in that state.   • LTCi Delivery Receipt – reminder
    This is a reminder that in order to comply with the majority of states’ regulations, the delivery of a Long-Term Care policy must take place within 30 days of issue. The Policy Delivery Receipt must be signed and dated by the insured immediately. Leave one signed copy of the receipt with the insured, and return the other signed copy to Mutual of Omaha.  It is important that delivery receipts for all Long-Term Care policies are returned to Mutual of Omaha.
