    • A lifetime protection alternative to Index UL You might have clients who meet this description: They’re between 45-75 and need a life insurance policy that will address income replacement, mortgage payoff, family education and estate planning. They would prefer a policy that allows cash accumulation in later years and grows on a tax-deferred basis. You might suggest they purchase universal life insurance with guaranteed death benefits and guaranteed cash values. Death benefits are generally income tax free, and cash values grow tax deferred as long as the policy is in force. Family members and/or significant others are defined as the beneficiaries based on the client’s desired payout and generally a trust is established to clearly define the client’s overall plans. While advice from a financial advisor is always recommended, you can read more now about the alternative to Index UL.
    • Boost portfolio internal rate of return with life insurance As a non-correlated asset in a client’s portfolio, life insurance may be an important component in tax-efficient asset transfers. Some assets may have less value than the client expects because the after-death transfer may result in extra taxes or fees. Permanent life insurance can prevent or minimize losses, help increase the income tax efficiency of the financial plan and transfer more wealth to the beneficiary. Internal rate of return (IRR) analysis has become accepted as a reliable way to measure financial plan efficiency. The rate of return on permanent life insurance is not tied to any other asset class, the money in a policy ultimately passes to beneficiaries free of income tax, and the policy can offer liquidity in later years on an income-tax free basis that the client can access through loans or partial surrenders.     • Updated forms required January 1stREMINDER As a reminder, all ING branded forms are no longer accepted by Voya Financial.  All forms received at Voya Financial beginning January 1, 2015 must be Voya Financial branded forms. Click here to login and obtain the most current versions of Voya forms.  Additionally, the updated version of the Voya Suitability Profile Form (Form #158670) is now required. Updates were made to the Net Worth/Liquid Assets section on page two.  Other minor changes throughout the form were made to help alleviate not in good order issues.
