    • Premium collection guidelines and paper applications enhancements
      The face amount in which premium may be collected with new applications has been increased. In addition, the applications available on advisor websites were also updated. The new applications have a better flow and are easier to understand.     • Early Values Agreement (EVA) compensation changes
      Effective January 30, 2015, a three-tiered EVA compensation structure based on target premium was implemented. While these changes may result in compensation being spread over a longer period of time, total compensation paid will generally be higher with the new structure.
    • Two NEW Agreements launching February 21st
      These two new agreements can help business clients ensure they have enough life insurance to pursue their financial goals and fulfill a buy-sell agreement.  The Business Continuation Agreement (BCA) and Guaranteed Insurability Option for Business (GIOB) are available on Minnesota Life’s individual indexed universal life and individual fixed universal life policies.

    Annuities aren’t right for every situation, but they are right for more situations than many people think.
  • American National:
    • How many 60-day rollovers can a client do in a one-year period?
      In January of 2014, the U.S. Tax Court held that a taxpayer could make only one nontaxable rollover contribution within each one year period regardless of how many IRAs the taxpayer owned. The one year limitation under 408(d)(3)(B) is not specific to any single IRA owned by an individual and the Court found that this section of the code applies to all of the IRAs owned by a taxpayer.  Read more.

      • The 2013 in-force rate action includes John Hancock LTCI individual policies originally issued in Colorado, Connecticut, and New Jersey. Fortis LTCI individual policies originally issued in North Dakota and Wyoming are impacted.
