The Affinity 7 Q will remain available for pension sales under the name Affinity 7 Unisex. This version will not be available in the state of Montana. Important deadlines are:

    • March 31, 2017 is the last date an application can be written for Affinity 7 NQ/457.
    • April 7, 2017 is the last date an application can be received in the home office.

  • Actuarial Guidelines 49
    Effective March 1, 2017, a revision to Actuarial Guideline 49, which specifies the standard for determining the maximum illustrated rate (MIR) for indexed universal life (IUL) policies, will apply to all IUL policies, including in-force policies sold prior to September 1, 2015. Previously, this standard only applied to IUL policies sold on or after September 1, 2015.  This change became effective for all Securian IUL illustrations on February 18, 2017.

  • Actuarial Guideline 49 (AG 49)
    Effective March 1, 2017, the maximum illustrated crediting rates on inforce indexed universal life policies may have been reduced to comply with a recent revision to Actuarial Guideline 49. This change only impacts the maximum index rate that can be illustrated and does not impact the underlying policy caps and credited rates. For specifics about the maximum illustrated crediting rate allowed with policies your clients own, please refer to Inforce Online Illustrator beginning March 1, 2017.
  • Fund changes planned for May
    The following fund modifications will take place as outlined below and affected clients will receive notification of these changes in March:

    • AST Schroders Global Tactical Portfolio will merge with AST Prudential Growth Allocation Portfolio at the end of business day on April 28, 2017.
    • JP Morgan Insurance Trust Intrepid Mid Cap Portfolio will be closed to new investments at the close of business on May 17 and will cease operations at the close of business on May 19, 2017.

  • Independent Home Health Care Providers Endorsement
    John Hancock will be reaching out to Performance LTC policyholders and informing them of an additional benefit available to them as part of their LTC policies – the Limited Benefit for Independent Home Health Care Providers. This benefit will pay a portion of the charges incurred for an Independent Home Health Care Provider in the event a Home Health Agency is not available in the policyholder’s immediate area.  We will be providing the policyholder with an Endorsement to attach to their policy. These mailings are scheduled to take place February 28 and March 3, 2017.
  • Virginia Partnership Eligibility
    John Hancock will be sending a communication to Virginia Performance LTC policyholders regarding their Partnership eligibility.  Partnership eligibility is based on the choice of policy, and the inflation protection selected at the time of purchase.  Eligible and non-eligible policyholders will receive a letter informing them of their status, along with a Notice to include with their policy. This mailing is scheduled to take place February 27, 2017.
