  • Louisiana Mandatory Reporting Update
    Louisiana La R.S. 22:1546(B) requires producer agencies to register, under its agency license, every member, partner, officer, director, and anyone else personally engaged in soliciting and negotiating insurance policies in the state of Louisiana. Producer agencies must notify the Louisiana Department of Insurance within 30 days of the change of status of any registrant. Failure to do so will result in a $100 fine. Read the announcement.

As a reminder, annualized target premium can fluctuate as case parameters change and the value should not be considered “final” until the case has been placed inforce.

  • End Dates for MetLife DI SuspensionIMPORTANT!
    Sales of new Individual Disability Insurance (IDI) policies will be suspended as of September 1, 2016. The last date to place issued policies is October 31, 2016. MetLife will continue to accept New Business Applications and continue to license, appoint and contract new brokers until August 31, 2016.

    • All IDI New Business Applications must be received (in good order) at MetLife’s Home Office in Tampa by September 1, 2016.
    • Any IDI New Business Application received after September 1, 2016 will be returned.
    • All issued IDI policies must be placed on or before October 31, 2016.
    • The IDI illustration capability within the MetLife Solutions platform will end on August 31, 2016.
    • Access to all sites/portals and IDI marketing materials will end on September 1, 2016.
    • Only the Individual Disability Insurance business is impacted by this suspension. The Group/GSI Disability business is not affected.
